Structures made from re-used manufactured goods are shown in this paper. The different parameters involved in the recycling scheme are enumerated and three specific types of structures are studied. First, the re-use of bicycle wheels to generate a truss structure is discussed. Second, sandwich panels made of re-used drinks cansfor the web and glass fibre for the top and bottom layer is discussed. The last examples are space structures and geodesic domes made of re-used skis. All three structures gave a good structural behaviour and an excellent ratio of self-weight to the span covered. The main advantage of these structures is that they benefit from the high technology used for creating the goods in the first place. Finally, the environmental compatibility of such structures is discussed.
